  1. What do I do when I get a "runtime error 364" when switching from the Job Steps Screen to Header Screen?
  2. Try shutting down the computer, and then re-start it.

      

  3. I downloaded the demo/upgrade and something started eating the files.
  4. There may be a virus in your computer. Check for viruses. Try to download again, and install.

     

  5. I was installing WHAM and got the message "error: your program has an error", and it asks to "continue or ignore?" When I select either button, I get the message: "windows has performed an illegal operation", and after selecting the close button Windows terminates the installation.
  6. It sounds like a bad CD, try to download a new installation file.

     

  7. Can WHAM be installed onto a server for multiple user access?
  8. No, WHAM software applications are installed on each individual computer. User files and databases may be shared on a network with Professional versions of WHAM software.

     

  9. I get a 'runtime error 5' when trying to execute WHAM.

  11. While trying to install WHAM, I received the message 'unable to register comcat.dll', and was given the option to select either "continue" or "discontinue" buttons.
  12. Comcat.dll may have been installed by another application on your computer. Select "Continue" to complete the installation. WHAM should run with no additional errors.

     

  13. I received a "fatal error" while installing WHAM.
  14. Check the TEMP directory, it should have has a minimum of 500KB of free space. If it has less than 500KB of space create more space, and run the installation again. Check with your MIS support staff if you are unfamiliar with how to check for free disk space.

    A fatal error may be the result of a conflict with a simultaneously running application such as a toolbox like omega zip, virus protection application or screen saver. Close all applications when installing new software.

     

  15. I tried to install WHAM, but the CD-ROM drive will not recognize the WHAM CD.
  16. The CD autorun feature may be disabled. Click on Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Install to begin an installation.

    If the CD-ROM is a network or drive, try installing from a local CD-ROM drive.

    The CD may be defective.

     

  17.   I am trying to download your demo, but am having problems.
  18. Your company may have a firewall on the Internet circuit you are using which may be blocking the download. Check with your IT department if you think this is possible.

    The file is 7.02 MB in size so if you are on a regular modem it could take 45 minutes to download. If you are on a dedicated circuit, it will only take a minute or so.

    WHAM software is designed for Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP/NT4/NT5. The download filename will be rejected by Windows 3.1 and other systems.

    Try installing on another computer.

     

  19. My web browser does not support frames? How do I view the help files?
  20. You are using an old version of WHAM software, download an upgrade from the website.

     

  21. I am trying to read the WHAM help file and received the following message: "Cannot find SHWIN20.DLL. Windows needs this file to run C:\PROGRAMFILES\AWS_WHAM\help\WHAM-LOCK_help.rtf"

You may have a problem with your word processor. Launch your word processor and then go direct to C:\Program files\AWS_WHAM\HELP to open the help file directly. If this does not work, seek assistance from your IT staff. In the meantime, you may view the help file with Wordpad, a Windows utility.

 

  1. While trying to run WHAM, I received the message "Runtime Error 50003".  What do I do?

Uninstall and reinstall the WHAM software.  If the problem persists, email support@whamnet.com.   

 

  1. I would like to print out "empty" job safety analysis (lockout or risk assessment) documents in order to use the forms in a fill in the blank fashion as I perform the analysis. How can I do this in WHAM?

To create a blank JSA forms, Click on File on the main screen, create a new JSA, tab through the JSA Folder Organizer (each field must at least include a space and you may want to type the word "blank" or "sample" as the Facility name to make the file easier to find), click open and you will now be in the JSA Header Entry screen. Click the Job Steps button. In the JSA Steps Entry Screen enter the number "1" in the grid line box then click the Add button, creating one blank line of a JSA. Continue clicking Add to create the desired number of blank lines that you need.

You may use a similar process to add blank entries with Historical Notes and Employee Data. Before exiting each screen, be sure to click on the Save All Changes button to preserve the entries you create.

 

  1. How do I print and view a complete listing of Hazards and Controls?

The following procedure requires knowledge of Windows Explorer and it's functions. If you are not familiar with this program, seek assistance. Improper use of Windows Explorer may result in loss of data.

To get a full listing of the hazards and controls, go into Windows Explorer, look for the program files folder under the C:, click on the program files folder, the folder titled AWS_WHAM and finally the Database folder and double click Hazards.txt. The list of hazards will appear in Notepad (the same applies to Controls). To make an easier to read list, consider copying and pasting the list into Word. You may also consider opening these files with Excel, specifying the Pipe (shifted keyboard button above the enter key) as the delimiter to separate the data into columns.

 

 

  1. How do I print the WHAM screens to use in a training class?

To print screens:

1.  Start word processor and WHAM-JSA

2. Display desired WHAM screen

3. Press ALT+PRTSCN simultaneously

4. Switch to word processor and Paste

5. A screen shot should appear in the word processor document

6. Manipulate and print as a word processor document

 

  1. I was using WHAM-Lock and after I creating a Lock-out procedure I was in the the Steps Entry Screen and noticed that the grid line number, inside grid line number box, changed. How did this happen?

    You quickly multi clicked the selected LOF to enter into the LOP, in doing so you might have been clicking after the screen has disappeared. The extra click selected a grid line and entered a new grid line number into the grid line number box.
